Stack Fusing and Exploring Depth - 3hr Online Course

£60.00

Discover the process of creating a stand-alone, stacked fused glass artwork. Explore two design processes; the first will be how to choose and dissect imagery in order to create a 3D scene in glass that is upto 4cm thick, and the second is how to utilise up to 13 layers of glass to explore abstract and patterned designs using colour layering.

You will also learn how to set up your stacked blocks in the kiln, how to fire them and how to minimise the need for any cold-working, while cold-working itself will also be explained if needed.

Further demonstrations will also include how to tack fuse details onto a stacked, fused block and how to create a straight edged piece and an organic edged piece, opening the door into created fused glass sculpture.

This will be a busy session of demos and discussion. You don’t need to buy any materials ahead of the course. Rather, you can gain all of the information from the course and decide what you would like to try afterwards. You will also receive my comprehensive written notes that you can take notes on and refer back to after the course. I will record the course, and you will be able to watch this back for one month afterwards.

The course will be interactive and limited to eight students to ensure you have time to ask any questions you have and there will be opportunities for discussion throughout. You will have the opportunity to discuss your initial ideas for your project.

Suitable for those with some existing basic fusing experience.

This course will be hosted on Zoom. I will email you one week prior to the course date with your course notes and you will receive your Zoom link two days ahead of the course.

Materials are not included.

Please note courses run on London time.

Composite images feature work by former students.
