Intermediate Techniques - 6 Month Course (Tuesdays)

£225.00

An online course combining monthly live tutorials with ongoing email support, exploring a variety of intermediate kiln-forming techniques. Each month will begin with a 2-hour long video call, where I will demonstrate from start to finish that month’s technique/s. You will then get email support from me to directly support that learning during the month. You will receive my comprehensive written notes and materials list for each of the techniques, which I will email one week ahead of each session so you will know what to expect. This means that when the video call takes place you will already have a basic understanding of the process and be exploring design ideas and thinking of questions - this is the most beneficial time for face-to-face discussion.

Each session will be hosted and recorded on Zoom. The recording will be available for you to stream online throughout the month if you need to and replaced each month by the new session.

These courses are suitable for both COE90 and COE96 users, with technical information and firing guides adapted for those taking the course.

This is an intermediate course, requiring a basic understanding of glass fusing skills and firing programs. If you’re a beginner or need a refresher, you may wish to take my Intro to Glass Fusing 3hr Course or Beginner Techniques 6 Month Course first. Students must have access to a glass fusing kiln. Material costs are each student’s responsibility and are not included with the course.

Reviews

‘Catherine makes the whole learning experience relaxed and enjoyable. There is no pressure and everyone can take it at their own pace. The flexibility to catch up during the month if you miss a lesson means you can tailor your learning around the other things that we all inevitably have going on. Plus the ability to ask questions during the month is very useful as you experiment with different techniques. I have enjoyed all the courses I have taken with Catherine and would really recommend the experience to anyone especially if you are starting your fusing journey.’Kay, 2021

‘My skill development and confidence with glass has increased with every session. I have learnt so many things from Catherine and do wonder whether I would have got so much out it had it not been online. Having the opportunity to watch the session again is also a bonus. Catherine’s style of delivery, patience, inclusiveness, her responses to my queries are always encouraging and supportive and her enthusiasm is infectious.’Fiona, 2021
